The ship was built for izru, and is therefore spacious but the ceilings are slightly low.

It is a versatile merchant ship.

A small frigate. Modules: 88.

Additional information:

The Giruka was built for long journeys, and offers space and comfort for the crew. It is built to withstand some punishment but is not a warship. It can carry a lot of cargo.

The ship has a drone bay and a shuttle bay that can store secondary vessels (currently empty). It’s cockpit is actually a command room where the whole crew can gather. The ship’s observatory/dish is it’s main sensor and communications tool. With its single-use mining nuclear bomb, the Giruka can crack open an asteroid to mine it for valuable metals. It’s grappling cord can be used to tow another vessel or be towed by another vessel.

In combat, the Giruka relies on its two microwave cannons and two missile launchers for offence, and its PDC for defense.

Fuel units: 2,984/5,000

Cargo hold: 39,200 days of food, 38,320 days of water, 38,320 days of oxygen, 300 blank depleted-uranium rods (bought for the price of 5 modules in Thermonuclear Safety).

Microwave cannons: connected to the fusion reactors, so they never run out of ammunition as long as the reactor is running. The microwave cannons can overheat targets and cause electronic devices to malfunction. They are an effective medium to long-range weapon.

Missile launcher: fires huchif missiles. They are homing radio-seeking missiles with an unstable antimatter warhead. When fired upon a target that does not emit radio waves, the Giruka’s dish can “paint” the target first. The huchif missiles are a versatile weapon but fair poorly against reactive or layered armor. The launcher fires one missile at a time.

PDC: the point-defense cannon fires metal slugs without a warhead at a rate of 5,000 rounds per minute. Against a lightly-armored enemy at close range the PDC can be a devastating offensive weapon, not just defensive, but targets with thick armor might just be pushed away by the impact of the slugs rather suffer serious damage. The Giruka has two such cannons, which makes it possible to defend against attacks coming from all sides at once, but using both cannons at once also consumes twice as much ammunition.

Ammunition box: the ammunition box is completely full with a complement of 20 huchif missiles and enough PDC slugs for 40 combat turns.
